Our club exists to celebrate the history of farming, equipment, and those who built this great country. It also exists to educate our youth and keep the interest alive, and most importantly, to have FUN!
Greetings,
On Monday June 21, 2010, the club combined our regular meeting with a visit to the "Wheels O' Time" Museum. We thank all those that made that possible, it was a very impressive facility. As we have in the last several years, we have expanded our club membership to over 100 members and over 30 sponsors. We had a really strong showing at the meeting. We continue to pursue the support of the community and expand our membership. Thanks for all those that make the club possible!!
On Monday, June 21, we finally received a contract and proposal from the Park that has been home to the show for the last 4 years. The contract was reviewed and distributed to those in attendance. Discussion was taken at length over the implications of the contract, and the contract and terms are available for your review. Being only 2 months out from the show, we had to make some tough decisions. The results from the meeting are as follows:
- Membership voted Unanimously to Reject the Park's contract,
- Members voted Unanimously to put on our show on the same weekend, but at a different location.
Many discussions of locations were reviewed, and special considerations for the tractor pulls were emphasized, with the following results:
- Members voted Unanimously to put on our show at Wyoming, IL (Stark County Fairgrounds) on the same weekend, August 21, 22, 2010
- Membership indicated general support (no vote taken) of the Princeville Show on Saturday July 24th.
We emphasize that these decisions were made by the membership in attendance. This shows how strong the club is as a whole and how dedicated we can all be when we work together. The club will continue to exist and have fun no matter what. Having these two events will be a welcome addition to the existing events the club participates in and attends throughout the next 2-3 months. Look forward to another productive summer with the club.
Sincerely
